Does this look contrived?

I dig the look of a Jazz sans pickguard when they're natural and 'burst. I wanted to try my Geddy w/o the guard but the natural wood screw holes were bugging me a bit w how they looked in contrast to the black. So I put black screws in. But...does it look as I say, contrived? Not the raw no pg look? Looks a little like a pin cushion now?

I had taken the strings/pickguard off to adjust the truss rod, and I actually think they look great without the pickguard... I see no problem covering up the holes, with screws.

The white pickup covers are throwing me off, not the screws.

Ah, I went for the white covers for that late 70's modded look which I why I wanted to try it w/o pg as well. As you can tell, I'm bored and thinking way too hard about it

Personally I'd go with a solid black pickguard, black control plate, black bridge, black pickup covers, black strap buttons and black screws.

Yah, that was the thing--with just the naked holes you could see it from five feet away. But, that is kinda the raw retro vibe.

If you wouldn’t have mentioned it I never would’ve noticed. If it bothers you try a clear or black one ply pickguard. Alternatively, a drop of touch-up paint/sharpie/black nail polish in each hole may do the trick as well…or look like trash. And if it does just put the screws back in, lol.

This was my first thought as well with the sharpie. It might look less obvious than the screws, not that the screws are really all that noticeable.
