I'm currently doing some bass shopping, but I'm looking for help right now to find the right one for me.

My style of playing consist mainly of chords and tapping, with fingerstyle and slap of course; and when it comes to genres I do want to experiment as I enjoy all music ranging from funk and jazz to other electronic dance genres (being a music producer).

I currently have a Rogue LX406 Pro 6 String Bass. Even though it's a good bass, it has a 52mm width at the nut making it a small neck for a six string, but the string spacing varies from 17-15 mm string spacing from the B to the C string. Even though it's serviceable, I'm beginning to learn that I'm not a fan of tight string spacing. It can be annoying at times. It's also a bass where I do not have access to all the frets. Not the best bass ergonomically either.

Would anyone else happen to know some basses that fall in these categories, ideally all of them, or verify that these basses I'm looking at are valid?

- I'm looking for a six-string bass with wide string spacing where it can be comfortable playing in the styles that interest me.
- Apparently, jumbo frets offer a quick response and good articulation when playing chords or tapping (my inspirations like Thundercat and Charles Berthoud use jumbo fret basses). I heard that tapping is possible for medium jumbo frets but require more energy. So, I'm looking for a bass with jumbo frets or anything close to that.
- Easy access to all frets on the fretboard.
- And ergonomics that are beneficial.
So far, here are the basses that I been looking at:
- MTD 635-24, AG6 (USA or Kingston)
- wide string spacing
- ergonomics of the asymmetrical neck and body
- access to 24 frets.
- However not too sure about the fret wires. It doesn't say on their website.
- Yamaha TRB-JP2
- wide string spacing
- hearing other people play it, it seems like the bass has great ergonomics,
- access to 24 frets
- Yet medium frets :/
- ESP LTD B-206SM or D-6
- extra jumbo frets
- access to 24 frets
- but I heard that there is 16mm spacing on it
- also, not sure about ergonomics
- Ibanez BTB models, I guess?
