Great that it worked out for you. It takes someone who cares to manage the band. Asheville is a great place, was there a few years ago and went trout fishing on the west fork of the Pigeon. I compared it to Boulder, CO or in its heyday, Berkley. Many places to play in town?

I don't. I think that's exactly what you need to do. Let her know that it's not working with her musicians, and if she wants to get serious, she needs to let you do the hiring.

It seems like you care more about the project than she does which may or may not be something to think about. You also don't trust her judgement when it comes to picking musicians, another thing you may or may not want to think about.
