Donate your old strings to a great cause!

I stopped boiling them years ago as they would snap more often after boiling for me and I cannot keep a full length of denatured alcohol in my little apt. This is so much better than tossing them !!

Question: Sounds silly however are strings from a lefty bass ok ? They tend to be cut in length opp to most righties. I want them to be able to use them.

Thanks so much for doing all of this !!

Sent my package out three weeks ago and just wanted to give this thread a bump. I was watching a clip of a guy in Jamaica playing bass lines on a guitar with one string. It's really easy to forget how good most of us have it...

I'm going to have some free business cards made up and take them around to my local stores. Maybe they will display them. I could at least post a few on the bulletin boards that often exist in music stores if I'm turned down.

I let the guys at Premier Bass Guitars near Boulder know about this thread and they've started a collection box for old strings. We also let players know about it at a Denver Area Get Together a couple weekends ago. I put in five 5-string sets and a collection of probably 150+ picks, and I know others contributed as well. Keeping it going!

I sent out the URL to the local shop owner/retailers who work on stringed instruments. I figure the more the merrier. I don't go thru strings very often. Maybe I need to play more !! :-) I'm looking forward to my un-used strings going to good cause.
