Dont you hate it when!

Discussion in 'Off Topic [BG]' started by Liquid-Tension, Feb 24, 2008.

  1. Don't you hate it when your on the top of your own little mountain of bass playing. Then some one comes along and just blows you away with their ability.:rollno:

    Good eye opener Though.

Just having a D&M with myself, dont mind me.

  2. No.

    No I don't.

I do what I do. I know there are MANY that are "better" than me. I've got my jobs. I can play with people.

Competence and a good ear trump "chops" 99% of the time.

    Therein lies the game.

I've accepted I'll never be as good as say, Jonas Hellborg, so I just relax and please myself!

No, theres always gonna be someone better than me out there. It's not a negative thing, it's just reality.

sometimes i think about where im at and im depressed, than i think about all the people who watch me play and tell me that im great and ask me to show them things, and i live for it. so i could imagine that those better than me are pretty much just like me in a way!

Hey it could be worse, everyone you hear could make you feel like that. Just keep at it, you can only get better.

not really. When I see people playing who are better than me, instead of getting angry or jealous I go "say, that's pretty darn cool! I'm gonna have to try and figure out what he's doing!"

I just play... I like seeing folks better than me because it motivates me. I also like playing with other musicians than me for the same reason.

when i see people playing better than me, i break their hands and laugh at them as i struggle through smoke on the water in the wrong key.
