I used the 450H a while back and the thing clipped real easy, and that was only in a pub with a pretty loud drummer but 2 guitarists that don't really go very ott. We play pretty noisey post-hardcore (PROPER post-hardcore
) too but really couldn't get much depth out of it and the classic 4x10 cab he was using. The thing has probably had some abuse though given the guy who was using it was in a really loud punk band, so it might well have not been putting out as much power as it should have been.
If your on a budget good old jack of pretty much all trades Peavey might be worth looking into. If you can find a black widow loaded 2x15 or 1x15+2x8 or 1x18+2x10 and a fairly powerful old head then you'll have plenty of low end to play with, then you can spend the extra money on a decent overdrive to make up for the lack of valve pre-amp, Some of the old Peavey stuff is really geniunely good quality too especially given what you pay for it.
