I'm wondering what you mean by that. Professional orchestra musicians like any other professional do much more than sit around on their @$$. I always have enjoyed your posts and am surprised that you would say this. Just curious what you meant I guess.

It seems that this thread is a little bi-polar. In an attempt to return to the topic, Minnesota Orchestra prelims were yesterday and I heard they went very well. I can't wait to see who wins. Does anyone have news of the other orchestra auditions going on right now?

Wow - so the MN Orch is going to continue on for at least another year with three subs in the section? Or is there a runner up that is being offered the job?

1) Peter Lloyd (former principal) resigned
2) Jim Clute retired
3) Colin Corner now principal in Rochester

equals three open positions, one of which is currently being filled by a 1 year sub. The other two are wide open....
