Double Bass Double bass plans are hard to find.

I’m not having much luck finding plans to build a double bass. Peter Chandlers plans sound good, but I can only seem to find them through this company in Canada. https://www.violins.ca/cgi-sys/suspendedpage.cgi

F
or some reason I am blocked from accessing the website. Maybe I somehow offended the owner for asking why the the postage is $90 for a set of plans posted to Australia? Not sure, but I can’t seem to purchase from them.

So, I’m wondering if there is somewhere else to buy Peter’s plans from? Or would you recommend the GAL plans as discussed here?

Yeah. I’m beginning to realise that. I have found Amati books that sell the plans as a set along with the book. $400AUD is a hefty price when all I want is the Gofriller plan, but I can’t find any other retailer.

On the smaller instrument posters, they include full size drawings, along with all dimensions. On the bass, the drawing is much-reduced, but the tables of dimensions are all there.

(That is the poster in question, in the attached photo…)

Thanks for the info about half size plans.

I was able to reconnect to the original suppliers website and have purchased Peter’s book and Gofriller plan.

I am really inspired by your Tarr bass build. What a beautiful instrument.
