Ohmage isn't a word...

Well... It makes Merriam-Webster and Oxford on line dictionaries (among others), so I think we have to reluctantly admit it to be a word, even if it doesn't feature in the vocabulary of professional audio engineers! Actually to digress, that makes me wonder. Would it be better if the units for resistance and impedance had different names? Ought impedance be measured in, I dunno, Shockleys or Flemings or something?

Ohmage still isn't a word, the correct usage is Ohms as a unit of resistance (DC) or impedance (AC).

Ohm is named after Georg Ohm who developed the concept of resistance based on his research with electro-chemical cells, and Ohm's law which relates voltage (potential) to current (electron flow) to resistance: Georg Ohm - Wikipedia

This is why school and education is important IMO.
