Who's using two OD/distortion/fuzz pedals in their setup, and what are you using?

I have a timmy c style rig...i use an original marshall guvnor for one of the signals, and a custom made beast of a pedal for the other grit tone

My other rig (for cover band/sitting in w/ another friend's band) uses a tech21 xxl bass and a tech21 programmable bddi, so thats KINDA like 2 on that one as well

Im running a DOD 250 overdrive in a Hartke Bass Attack which is set for mild grit. Both together sound great IMO

I'm running a Little Big Muff (set to mild or moderate fuzz) into a SansAmp Bass Driver DI (set to mild OD).

Basically, I can add tube-like processing and additional distortion to my fuzz by simply clicking the SansAmp on

Most people run OD => Fuzz, but since I'm using a SansAmp and a solid-state amp, I thought it'd be nice to have a "tube amp sim" switch of sorts - which is why my SansAmp is at the end of my signal chain. Hence, Fuzz => Tube OD

It sounds great both ways, but each way is unique.

I'm considering running a Boss HM-2 along with my EH English Muff'n. I love the Muff'n for thick OD, but want something for a really heavy distortion.

I have an HM-2, but am still considering my options.

I put my Sansamp at the end too. I have a Tech 21 XXL and a T-Rex Mudhoney that I run into the SABDDI. I guess I have three dirt pedals, but with different combinations of switching them in and out, I get way more than three tones. I use the XXL as a mild distortion with the gain rolled all the way off. I have that first in line because it is extremely responsive to playing dynamics. The T-Rex is for nasty fuzz. Gain and Tone are on max and Level is set for a little boost. The SABDDI is set completely flat except the Presence control is rolled down. I just use it for a tube simulator sometimes. Running the others into it really makes a big difference.

I run a Hughes and Kettner Tube Factor parrallel to a Big Muff Pi, I can turn them both on at once getting the warm fuzzy Muff sound while getting a defined cutting distortion from the tube factor.

The factor also does my grit sound, and I have an oscilating fuzz, and gain boost pedal on there as well.

I run a NYC Big Muff into a BDDI with the drive knob maxxed.

I run both a Mesa V-Twin Rackmount and a Chandler Tube Driver in my effects loop. I switch between the two for different distortions, but I run both at about 60% blend (distorted signal to clean signal) on my SWR to keep it sweet!

I run an M80 distortion channel --> DOD250 which has been modded for bass.... They each sound great on their own, but it's when they are both on that this setup really shines.....

Hmm, in a way yes. I'm almost never playing absolute clean

Using the Tube-Bass preamp from GP-Lightstone. Having it placed before the compressor I just dig in how much OD I want.

First channel is almost clean, but with a little grind (can't be heard together with a guitar or drums etc) and second channel is for overdrive!

For the overdrive, think Audioslave - Loud Love, that "dry" tubeish (obviously), low-mid rangy tone.

i use a fulltode bassdrive, and akai unibass & a prunes & custard. i also have a big muff pi that isn't in my pedalboard right now...

One of my favorites for this was the Visual Sound Jekyll and Hyde. One side was an overdrive, one side was distortion.

I used to run a ProCo Vintage Rat into a Boss ODB-3, but now I've ditched the ODB-3. I'm attempting to build my own distortion pedal (taking a hell of a long time though, I'm terrible at electronics) so as soon as I get that done I'll be back to dual-distortion heaven.

Having one pedal for light distortion/overdrive and the other for over-the-top distortion or fuzz really sounds great IMO.

Fulltone Bassdrive into a Little Big Muff. Very sweet overdrive and fuzz on their own but put them together and you get sweet creamy fuzz that still has note articulation and can cut through!

I run a BOSS DS-1 with the tone and distortion all the way down for my grit and a Russian Muff for my fuzz. My Sansamp is always on which gives me that warm sound.

-> Modded Boss BD-2
-> Stock Boss OD-3
-> Sansamp BDDI

The BDDI helps to restore some low-end that overdrives usually take away and the Sparkle Drive helps me cut through the mix pretty well.
