Double neck project complete

is it practical? I wonder how it feels after a 90 minute set?

Practical? Practical would be owning just one bass that's functional and not too expensive. I looked at your profile and just like most of us it looks like you lean more toward the fun and interesting than the practical. ;)

The one thing I would maybe change would be to have the fretted neck on top for better slap position. Also it would work for right hand tapping with the fretted neck on top while tapping melody on the fretless with the left hand. Now THAT's practical! hahah

I have admit, practically wasn't something I really had in mind with it, and it was mainly for giggles, but it is quite usable. I always thought it would at least make a nice ornament if it didn't work out!

90 minutes would be a bit much but it's not too bad for shorter sessions, the original bodies are basswood I think, and quite light.

That's a project I've been thinking about for years now, gluing together two basses. I think it's pretty sweet looking. I bet two seperate pickguards and paintjobs would certainly make for an even more unique instrument. Of course, you can always swap either neck out for a lefty, or even an 8-string from say Warmoth.
