Hi fellow TB'ers! I thought I'd share a rough mix of a song my trio, Kinda Sorta, has been working on, written by my wife (who sings and plays keyboards). I initially recorded a fretless bass track using my Ibanez SRF700, but then about a month later I received my new Sandberg fretless and decided to lay down another track with it (with the original bass track muted). Then I was A/B'ing between the two tracks to hear the difference between the two basses (which is subtle--the Sandberg has a bit more bottom end) and I realized I'd played both parts pretty close to each other, so I decided to pan one bass track full left and the other bass track full right, as an experiment. I really like the way it sounds, and I think I'll use this technique more often.
