Anyone out there have any experience with a Douglas Fir bass body? What's it sound like compared to Ash?

Douglas fir sounds like ash. I own a 6 string Marco J bass and the body core is Ash and Fir and the wings are Fir.
Perfect! I'll be joining the Marco family shortly and I'll have a similar combo with a Walnut top. Any clips of your 6er?
Kool but sorry I don't have any clips available at the moment.
But my 6 string Marco J bass sounds like an old school passive ( it's passive) Fender with a nice balanced B and C string added. And to be honest that's what I wanted from this 6 string J bass.
Marco bass guitars endorser.
I'm having Marco wire the pups to sound more modern to nail that Marcus slap sound and Bona fingerstyle tone...with the escape hatch of a battery compartment if I want to put in a preamp later.
I'm sure it will have a killer sound.
