Downsizing

I am downsizing my gear this year. I will be 64 is about seven weeks, and just don’t want to pile up stuff anymore. Tomorrow is not promised to anybody, but the actuarial tables are really against me keeping a bass long enough for it to look relic’ed. I am not ruling out a retirement bass in 2.5 years when I retire, I do not want more than three basses anymore under any circumstances.
For what it’s worth, I plan to stop collecting pocket knives too and I have been doing that longer than any other hobby I have.

Well, most of us bass guitar heroes on TB aren't getting any younger. I'll be 75 next year - still gigging, though. Been thinking about unloading a bunch of basses I've accumulated, since they're certainly more than I'll ever need again. Maybe try to make a deal with a local shop to sell them on commission. I know the guys, and they're straight.

EDIT: Still and all, I'm coveting a Reverend Dub King.

I’m not interested in buying anymore myself. I’m holding steady at 6, & they are all keepers. I wrestle with letting my Sandberg go from time to time . But I can’t do it .

2 dream basses that I hunted for a few years both came up for sale recently and I turned them both down . I’m really grateful and content with my basses.

Before you do anything drastic, you really should check out the CJRB Pyrite. I’ll admit that they could use a better blade material (I have an LE version that does exactly that), but it really is a great knife at a great price. The large version is even more fun!

The funny thing is that the Peavey was a gift, not a bass I was all that crazy about, but it has really grown on me, and I can get absolutely every tone I want out of it.
