Double Bass DPA 4099 with Headway EDB-1

Looking at their website, it seems they are saying that this mic will work with phantom power of 12v and up. I have a Headway EDB-1, which has 18v phantom. I am assuming this will work - does anyone out there use this combination? I am thinking of blending the mic with my Underwood or Krivo pickup.

18v phantom worked when I used the DPA 4099 with my old EDB-1 just fine. Now if only the guitar player would play a little softer, and I didn't have to set up my amplifier right next to the PA monitor I might be able to avoid feedback!

I used this exact combination for a while without any phantom power issues. I only stopped using it when I decided that I'd rather just send the DPA to the FOH and only use a pickup in my amp setup.

I feel this. We are doing a "low volume" gig in a week, so we decided to get together an "acoustic" set. I promptly removed the ear plugs and plugged in my DB. Guitarist plays through our rehearsal PA and it's just getting louder...and louder....and louder...now I'm wondering if I will have feedback issues with a mic. No feedback with the Krivo (obvs) but already with the Underwood I have to watch it a bit (and I'd like to stick with Underwood, maybe plus a mic).

If you're having to be careful with an Underwood, I don't think you'll have any luck using a mic without feedback. Sorry - I hope I'm wrong, but it doesn't sound good...

C'mon man, I don't pay attention to that! I think it's a Gretsch acoustic with a built-in piezo.

If you're having to be careful with an Underwood, I don't think you'll have any luck using a mic without feedback. Sorry - I hope I'm wrong, but it doesn't sound good...

Thanks. To be clear, I'm not having "trouble" - I just noticed that if I turn it up past a certain point (well beyond what I need, at least in the rehearsal room), I get feedback. I can't predict what will happen on a stage, but considering that this rehearsal room is really tight with some weird acoustics, I am hoping it's a non-issue.

EDIT: As background, I used a K&K for years, and recently started trying out some other options, which is why I don't know what the stage reality will be.

Use a compressor/limiter for the loud guitars. And seal the volume control.
As it gets louder hopefully the guitar player recognize that the dynamics get lost and if not there is at least a border.

I'm good, just wanted to know if the mic would work with the Headway.
