Dr black beauties, who likes them?

Im a big fan of dr strings, just got my 1st set of bb, who likes them?

I’ve been thinking about trying in a set - haven’t used coated strings in 20-odd years. I know BB are stainless, but I’m going the coated mellows out that high mid crunch.

I do. But probably wouldn't use them again.

The coating wears off and looks meh after a while.

I liked the set I had, but currently running pink Neons.

Anybody with a Semihollow, highly recommend them. Had a set on my Guild Starfire II, incredible! Really makes a darker, woodier sounding bass sound massive.

I love them . Had them on two of my Alembics for years. Long lasting depending how you play; I have to force myself to change them every 6 months or so even if they don't feel to dull. (and yes, the coating does wear off after a while but i don't care

I have a set on one of my basses, mostly for aesthetic reasons. They sounded nice, iirc, but I haven't played that bass in at least 5y so I have no independent recollection of any specific tonal qualities.

I had a bass that came with them, and later I put the neon pink ones on it, not sure I would pursue them on a regular basis, as they are $10 more than my usual strings....

i like 'em. i'm not currently using them, and i'd prefer a lighter gauge string set, but i've generally appreciated all of the coated strings i've tried.

I love the Black Beauties. They have a unique sound that I particularly like on one of my Pbasses.
A bit rough to the touch. They record beautifully.
