DR Dragon Skin Glissando

Is it rougher than normal?

I have played steel and nickel rounds for a long time and thought about trying new things. I'm familiar with flats and grounds but strings like DR Black Beauty and Dragon Skins are new to me.

I did sone research on various coated strings and came across more than one commentor saying that Dragon Skins for instance were rough on string slides. I grew up on Roto 66 so I am not concerned, or should I be? I often like to play legato and will play extended one/two string phrases with plenty of gliss.

I am also interested in "pressure wounds", but that is another thread?

Rougher than normal? No.
Rougher compared to coated Elixir? Yes.

When people think of coated strings they usually mean Elixirs, which are smooth and slick feeling. Coated DR's are different in that they feel more like normal strings. They almost have a fabric feel to them. They are definitely not rougher than something like Roto's or Cobalts.

Pressurewounds are a different animal, as they feel closer to flats since the windings are flattened with a roller. They are not bright sounding like Dragon Skins or other roundwounds.
