DR Legends

finally a video of these strings :D the seem to sound a bit too "modern", but I guess it depends on the way he sets the amp and them being new. I'd like to hear them on a Precision, maybe well used...
Thanks brother!! They are new but sound really worn in, I'll definitely do an update in a month or 2. Also as far as amp, it's a Little Mark II through a Form Factor 1-12 cabinet. The head is set FLAT, I rarely use EQ and the filters are all the way off, if I could I would remove the filter knobs, I never use them. Also, will be putting some flats on my old P bass soon too.

wow, the cab must be very bright and clear sounding! I had the LMII years ago, and I really liked it, but I wasn't able to get those high frequencies with the cabs I used (Hartke, Ashdown, Markbass and G&K). it always sounded smoother on the highs.
after an year I sold it, because I was more in the "ashdown" kind of sound :) right now in Italy is impossible to pick a LMII or III without spending lots of money... is overly-quoted on the used market...

I'd love to hear those Legends on a P bass :D I'm always in search for new flats, because I can't decide wich I like more. I've tried D'Addario, Fender, Thomastik, La Bella, Pyramid, and with everyone there was something not "perfect for me"... I needed 4 years to understand that with the TIs :D

Was just looking for an update on these. I picked up a set of the DR Legends on a whim yesterday. I was looking for some flats for a Mexi Jazz 4 string bass I have. I want to play flats pick-style, and am looking for a more vintage tone. I have never played a DR string of any kind before, so I was excited to try them out.

On the video, I see you mentioned your amp settings, but did not notice where you mentioned what your bass settings where. Do you have both pickups and tone cranked?

I love the tone on your video, and I think it would suit the music I want to play well. A month or so in, are you still liking them?

I have played Chromes, Fender 9050's, Roto 77's, an GHS Precisions (the GHS on a P-bass only though). The only ones I didn't really like were the Chromes, but I didn't hate them or anything. Could definitely make them work if I needed to. I have more experience with Rounds, honestly. Especially stainless rounds on a Jazz.

Thanks and glad you like the video!!
The bass had both pickups all the way up and the tone rolled off about 25%. I still like the strings very much and will be leaving them on this bass. I'm a round wound player through and through but it's nice to have this bass strung up with these strings for when I want that flat wound sound.
They're great strings.
