DR Neon Strings

JUst bought a set of DR Neon strings. They look great on my Jackson concert bass. Usually I play my Warwick Corvette on most gigs and hook it up with Elixirs, and am very carefull with them; meanng I always clean them after a gig with Fast Fret to give them more speed and life.
So I was wondering... Can you clean the DR Neons with Fast Fret without compromising the coating??

They are... Pink ones lol . Wanted to try them out, the're not bad at all. Still dont know how long their looks would last though.

I have had a set of neon orange on my bass for over six months showing very little wear. This is not my main bass but does get played a good deal.

I use them on all my basses and I just changed them On my main bass after a year of use

If you play with a pick, you can get a good 6 months out of them before there is noticeable wear where you pick the most.

If you play fingers, you can probably go a year.

I don't clean mine or putting anything on them and they always perform well!

The only actual video review I have seen of these was on a guitar, and I suspect this person was not aware of being careful of when passing the string through the bridge area as to not scrape the coating. Hence, decreasing longevity.
The reviewer stated that after a week, the coating started to wear off and broke into sections causing a very unpleasant feeling when switching from an area of bare string to an area which still had a section of coating.
He was reviewing DR Red Devils.

While the bass strings stand up to pick use very well the guitar strings do not. I tried the neons on two guitars and they started showing significant coating wear off in a week or less like your firends did.

I actually use DR neon greens on my Warwick 'Vette 4 string and I really enjoy them! I haven't seen any wear and tear on them at all. I finger my bass so I can't give advice about using a pick, but I have yet to have any complaints with them. I play mostly metal, but I occasionally will jam with some rock, slap, and blues. These strings sound good with all these genres IMO. I don't use any kind of cleaners on my strings, but they haven't gotten dirty from the oils on my fingers or other kinds of residue. The green is still as bright as when I bought them!
