Are you talking about the DR's "short scale" with 34" winding length, or do they actually carry the ones with 32" winding length?
Not sure what the length was but they worked and kept intonation and tension well on my Musicmaster which has a 30" scale

According to their website, the regular length (long scale/for 34" or 35") is 37 3/4", while the short scale set is 33 3/4". Which checks out as short scale strings, since you need length to go past the nut and wrap around the posts, as with the regular/long scale.
Most manufacturers would define "short scale" as 32" in winding length, while 34" would be generally considered "medium scale". DR happens to be one of the few exceptions.
