DR Silver Stars Feel

I have no direct experience with the Silver Stars (although I've been wondering about them) but I have used Black Beauties on a few basses, and I think the coating is essentially the same. I agree with mmbongo: they have a very slightly "plastic" feel to them, but it's really minor - you almost have to go looking for it - and other than that they feel like any other roundwounds.

dude.. I used Dr coated strings.. til a year and a half ago.. they feel better then all other rounds.. except ti rounds..

I ordered a set of Rotosound Solo Bass online today. USPS shipments to Canada usually take about 10-14 days. I'll report back after they arrive and are played in for a few days at least.

Thanks again for the tip 40Hz. I liked what I heard in the sound clips. We'll see if that tone materializes in my setup

Are you referring to the TI Jazz Round Wounds or Power Bass?

TI Jazz Round Wounds I used coated cause my hands don't callus well.. and it saves me from blistering.. I'm playing Jazz flats now..

One more option (that I can think of) for being "smooth-feeling" like the Silencers but "brighter" = Rotosound Solo Bass 55 (Stainless Steel Pressurewound).
