DR strings for fretless

Hoping some here might have knowledge/experience with this.

I'm loving DR Dragon Skins and Hi Beams on my fretless but am curious about the Sunbeams, Pure Blues and nickel Lo-Riders as well.

My primary question is which set will do the lease amount of damage to my Rosewood board?

Yeah, any of the rounds will eventually wear, the stainless a bit faster. I finally need to resurface my fingerboard on my Carvin LB40 fretless after 15 years of Black Beauties on it, going to just fill the grooves with stewmac black epoxy (rather than coat the whole board).

That's interesting, have you done that procedure before?
I would be very interested to learn how that is done for my own fretless' sake!

When I got my Roscoe Fretless back in 2004, I asked Gard what strings I should use to get a near upright sound. He recommended Black Beauties. They worked great on the ebony board of that bass. And I liked them so much that even though I no longer have a fretless, I still have Black Beauties on three of my fretted basses, including my two workhorses.

I used Sunbeams on my L2500 and really liked them , but I like Sunbeams period. Nickel wound round core makes for a smoother feel, which I like.
