DR Sunbeams vs EB Cobalt slinky?

Hi guys, just got myself a sterling sub ray4hh. Planning on swapping out the strings to either Dr sunbeams or EB slinky Cobalts. Been trying to look for reviews comparing both these strings. Would really appreciate some feedback! Thanks alot fellars!

I use Sunbeams (45-130) on my 18v Fender Dimension Deluxe 5. They have good zing but not too much, the bass has latitude to tame 'em when they're newer while holding a lot of low end. Plus, nickel seems nicer to my hands & frets. They seem to have a decent amount of life over several rehearsals, practices and gigs.

The only related factor is the Fender being an active model. YMMV

I use slinky cobalt rounds on all my musicman basses. They have a very pronounced upper midrange and low end punch. Basically they sound mid scooped. I really like them but they’re not for every bass—for example I really don’t like them on a Jazz bass. But they sound terrific on musicman style basses, if you’re looking for a bright string with some edge to it. Sunbeams will have more mid warmth, not as much upper mids, and smoother.

Two very different strings...

DR Sunbeams = Full warm bottom, sparkly (not overly zingy) top end, smooth and somewhat polite midrange. Smooth surface texture (for a round) and flexible (round core).

EB Cobalt Roundwound = A little more punch with aggressive midrange with more growl. Rougher in texture and stiffer in feel (hex core).
