Drop in replacement for a vintage Schaller M4 - any suggestions?

Hi all,

The Schaller M4 tuners on my '78 Les Paul Triumph are close to gone (dents in the peg that cause strings to snap while restringing, constantly having to retune, very inconsistent ratio, etc.).

By now, i've tried the reissue M4's, Grover 144C mini tuners and even the Hipshot HB6C 3/8 but they're all just a slight bit too big. They fit the hole, but there's no way to fit the bushing without drilling.

So long story short; does anyone here know of a drop in replacement for those vintage M4 tuners?
