Drop Tunings and string gauges

I currently own a 35" 5-string Ibanez.
My question is simple, if I were to drop tune this guitar (probably to A standard or drop-A), should I get a different set of strings? Surely, particularly with the B-string, drop-tuning it would cause buzzing and would not sound good, but I can't be sure.
