Drum loop MIDI files for Ed Friedland's "Bass Grooves"?

Ed Friedland's Bass Grooves presents lots of stylistics grooves to practice. However, unlike other instruction book sound files that let you use the left and right channel sliders to mute the bass and project only the other material (in this case, the drum loops), Ed mixed both signals together on the main channel.

I don't want to spend time programming his drum keys for the zillion examples. Has anyone done this and created MIDI files for all the drum loops in this book? Welcome to hear what's out their as in this case, neither Google or TB search has been my friend. Thank you!

I traded email with Ed. He doesn't have the MIDI files. Nor the audio files. He advised me to program them myself and my groove would thank you (me) and the drummer would too.

I think when I put this together, I deliberately didn't separate the bass and drum tracks on the examples so you'd have to program them yourselves. What a typical teacher/educational integrity kinda dirty trick. Now of course, with the drum machine relegated to the scrap heap of history... People need to find other ways. The point is to NOT use a loop. Sure, they sound great, but the point is YOUR experience playing it in. The best suggestion is to buy a drum set and learn to do it on that... Not an option for everyone.

After creating a dozen of these loops with Studio One based on patterns in Ed's book, I've already seen the wisdom in his counsel of "doing it yourself." On the other hand, Ed, you sound like a modern teacher pleading with students to turn off their cell phones in class. (But I listen to you anyway because -- well, you're Ed Friedland!)

I programmed most of the Bass Grooves drum loops a year ago. If you're interested, here they are.

Files are provided in three formats.

1. MIDI -- The most important are the .MID files, which universally operate in any DAW or device supporting MIDI. With this file, you can adjust the tempo (most important!) to fit your pace of learning. Most are preset to 80bpm. They also let you change individual settings of each drum part and/or let you swap instruments.
2. MP3 -- The .MP3 file names indicate a preset tempo. They'll quickly tell you what the track sounds like but are limited to one speed.
3. SONG -- The .SONG files are control files for Studio One. If you use that DAW, the .SONG files will automatically work with Studio One controls.
