drummer blues AGAIN

drum machine would be great but we do like to jam out a little bit so we'd have to lose that aspect. We have a band leader but the five of us have equal say in everything. Anybody can veto a song choice or propose something. It's mostly classic rock, blues, soul covers that are little bit jam band style with about 15% originals and it's all material that we all like. Latest guy is definitely the best drummer we've had and if we can't keep him we are probably just hanging it up since resetting is getting old.

I definitely couldn't play with a guy that just jumps in on a mike whenever he wants. That's brutal. And double booking is inexcusable.

I think though I'd rather have that guy than muppet man. If he takes it seriously why not at least try and look like it. Our drummer had to piss once during a set so we just played Folsom Prison till he got back, though we suggested he consider a catheter in the future. Show's gotta go on.

Double booking isn' really inexcusable, it's the choosing which band to play in (after booking) which is.
Peeing is a necessity, and drumming isn't great for being able to hold it in.. legs apart moving.. try it?
I just go and piss when the lead singer is chatting to the audience, but inevitably, she looks round and announces that I'm off peeing, so when I get back I get an applause..

May I introduce you to Drummy, aka DrumBum, aka Animal. You don't have to solicit his opinion about anything. He's right up front about whatever it is. He is a handful: He will proudly tell you he's been fired from every band he ever played with, not because of lack of skill (He still goes to drum clinics; I've never played with a drummer so devoted to his craft) but for being, well...crazy. Maybe he has mellowed with age, because our BL loves him, as do we all, even when he pulls stunts like standing up in the middle of a set and hollering "I GOTTA PEE" and running off stage. Note the Sesame Street dolls on his rig. He never plays without them "I gotta have my kids!"

That person at the front looks scared..

He wanted us to forgive him but it wasn't the first time he put others before us.

Sounds like you forgave him plenty... our guitarist had one foot in one band (gigging), auditioned for another (lot's of gigging), while trying to maintain some semblance of order in ours (not gigging, but close... very close). It's not like we had to cancel anything, so no harm there, but I think it's just the way he handled it... you go through the usual stages of letdown... anger, then indifference, then focus on what it will take to amend the situation. We've got a couple of guitarists lined up for auditions, this week actually, so hopefully we get back on track. Serious, you need to buy a program to know who the players are...

Right before he pull all that......
He insisted we get in a battle of the bands........I wanted nothing to do with it, but we went along to placate him. The night before we should of had rehearsal, like we do before any larger show. He said he couldn't rehearse the night before. Come to find out he was rehearsing with the new band. He pretty much torpedoed us at the BOB that he wanted to do in the first place.

Hey, what he does behind closed doors is his business... focus, and stay on topic...

:cool:... :laugh::laugh::laugh:.
We're doing the big show Sunday, I have a almost complete lack of interest at this point. But the performer in me will take over to do my best. I'm a way better player and especially vocalist than two years ago when we played this venue.

I have faith in you, that you'll give it your best... Good luck, with both the show and the drummer.
