Dual Precision Style Single Coils

I'm talking about early 50's style p-bass single coils, anybody have a bass with two of these pickups?

Once, I saw someone here take a 51 Precision reissue and add a "bridge pickup" of the same type.
I can't remember who it was...........

You could easily wireem volume/volume instead of volume/tone
but I'm quite sure it must be a cool design and a smart option

Only... Leo Fender thought about something like that in 1960, when, right after Precision ugradin', was thinkin' about hummin'
single pickups and came to the soon to become Jazz prototype

Lollar or Nordstrand or a wide range of people could do that for you.

I had that idea after i bought a cool 51 style bass bodyhere,but the cost having a wider bridge p.u.made would robably push me to a jazz bridge p.u.

That spacing would be one way to go.I'd love to try that out!The spacing pole to pole looks around 2"-2-1/4" maybe that's the easy solution i was looking for.

P-bass SC's sound different than J-bass pickups(to me). Not saying one is better than the other, just looking for thoughts and ideas.

fwiw this RS Guitarworks Contour bass has a dual single coil p setup. I have no idea how it sounds, but they look killer (maybe a wee bit much on the relicing though).

The bass player with Amee Mann has a good=sounding Tele Bass with two pickups. There are two PBS shows and the tastey album The Forgotten Arm.
