Dual Precision Style Single Coils

fwiw this RS Guitarworks Contour bass has a dual single coil p setup. I have no idea how it sounds, but they look killer (maybe a wee bit much on the relicing though).

Well, my inquiry is slightly more humble and homebrew. I've got some P single coils around and I was thinking about throwing them in an old MIJ Bullet Bass I've got.

A good budget solution

For budget, that'd be nice enough.
The Fender Squier single coil, + 1 more pickup would be a good budget "off the shelf" solution too.

Yea, it should be a fun way to use up some parts...the old SQ Bullet came to my with a great neck and beat to heck body. It was supposed to be in "near mint, showroom condition". I'm considering bunching two singles together in the "sweet spot" and wiring them out of phase, V-T with a 3 way toggle. Nothing fancy, just some different tones to play around with.

I don't normally visit Fender threads but your mention of the '51 style pickups caught my eye........My "Fenderbird" uses two SD '51 P types potted in Gibson '76 covers, it's wired VVTT with a three way switch. It's fun when I need the Fender tone.

You've got some sweet 'Birds and you really know how to use them! I never noticed the F-Bird before.

Looks a bit like the Bullet I'm building right now. I think the two SC's are going to 'bucking it up together in the sweet spot though, I've got a good P/J already.
