Double Bass dual purpose strings

Hi All looking for help on what to put on an upright to use a bow A few times a night but have good blues sound and do a few slap songs and still have some fingers by the end of the gig .I like the slapping ability of my eurosonic lights . but the need to bow has come in the same gig , plus I have fell in love with the Spirals on one but slapping with the steal , is ripping me up but I like the sustain. I know I want the best of both worlds with out bringing two basses is there A string that can do it all ? would gut strings survive in the north east . and would my wallet survive. you know how we all make so much money playing bass lol.

Back when I played URB, Spirocore gave the best option for bow and plucking. I didn't like them much for slap style but I didn't do many songs that required slapping so no biggie.
Get the mods to move this to the DB forums for you and you'll get a lot more info and helpful opinions.

Try some kind of synthetic core metal wound strings.
The easier stretch of the core than metal makes them easier to play and pluck. The slap with the outer metal winding makes the slap brighter, but the softer core damps it a bit so less bright than metal core/metal windings strings.

A high stretch ability of the core can limit the dynamic response of the string (more plucking input, but not more acoustic output).
PEEK is rather stretchy, Obligato, Evah Pirazzi and Zyex are made with a PEEK core.
The core of Innovation strings is less stretchy, close to a naked gut string (G or D), so you might want to try Braided, Honeys or Polychromes to get easily bowable strings.
The core of the Braided and Polychromes (lowest tension from the three) is the same as the core of Silver Slaps that have a lower tension than the metal wound Innovations and a flatwound synthetic winding. They can be bowed, but are not a choice for classical music, I think.
