Duff Mckagan Sig fender club

Not sure if i would bought one with the 12 fret inlay- maybe i really like the bass. Not usually a fan of playing with stuff with other mens name on it-lol

We'll just let that other artist remain nameless... I wasn't even intending on buying this bass, I had two 80's Jazz Specials that I was completely happy with. I was in a Sam Ash on the 4th of July, saw it and decided to check it out just to compare it to the originals. I liked it so much, I ended up buying it that day.. The 4th of July sale didn't hurt much, either... :D

Well with the Duff bashing and then the Duff -nonbashers - thought it might be a good time to see if any more Duff sig users were lurking out there .We are stuck at 4.....No matter what you think of him as a bassist -its still a cool bass............

+100

Listening to Duff's playing taught me the value of knowing where to play and where NOT to play... He's very underrated if you ask me...

I don't have one of his basses but I did stand behind him in line to by a gyro once. It was a music festival and I thought it was him but wasn't 100% sure so I didn't say anything, when I realized it was him on stage later that evening with Velvet Revolver I kicked myself for not atleast saying hello.

Not a big fan of GnR or VR but he's a damn fine player.

Duff also had fred stuart build him 6 fender custom shop basses.the difference being the p bass pickup was in the reverse placement. i owned the one pictured for five years and then sold it.it was a great bass.

I recently picked up a MIJ Jazz Special at the local pawn shop dirt cheap. The thing's a odd/ hideous coppery color. Think 5 year old penny. She aint pretty but ya know what I'll never sell her. One of the nicest basses I've ever played. Sure wish she was white like a real Duff but hey I've got the right model. If the MIM's are as good they're worth the $ but look for a used MIJ 1rst and save.

$800 for a Duff sig? Someone at Fender is surely smoking rocks. Why would anyone buy a new one when the original MIJ Specials aren't fetching half that price on eBay? I love my 2 Jazz Power basses, the big active brother of the Special, and I would surely pick up another if the price was right.

Shaun_BassO your number 5 Welcome
I thought that 799 was a good price -I think that the old MIJ is not the same bass .. But to each his own...
The one i have is very nice -Plays smooth I went to the music shop and tried a bunch of different bass's - this was the one that jumped out ....

Member no.5...Awesome!

I paid £800 for mine, although that price was made a little easier on me given the fact that it is actually signed by Duff! (On the top contour between the pick-ups in the picture). Because of that fact this was originally going to be a "show" bass, only used on the biggest/most special gigs, but its such a good bass it's my main player.

I just recorded an album with mine (which is out on Feb. 9th by the way!) and it came out awesome. This is NOT a nice, mellow bass, it sounds p1$$*d off, bad @$$ and totally rock 'n' roll...just the way it should be. Nails the duff tone completely but you can also dial in your own sound with a bit of experimentation. My strings SING on this bass, 6 month old roto 66's sound no more than a month old. Neck is a joy to play, you can really rip it up when you need to.

If Fender ever came to me and offered me a sig bass....i'd have to tell them they already made it
