Double Bass Dull sounding string

I bought a set of Spirocore Mittels which I fitted to my instrument last night. The E, A and D all sound fine (a little 'edgy' but that will settle down I'm sure), but the G sounds dull - almost muted compared to the others.

Any advice, or is it probably just a dud string?

Maybe there shoud be some problem in windings or you didn´t install it properly ... Try to install the G string once more and look carefully on string surface. Maybe you will find problem.
