Double Bass Dumb bridge question, need help!

I was adjusting my bridge and ended up removing it. Trouble is, one end of the bridge is higher than the other one and I forgot to see which end went where. Any idea if the high end should go to the E or G string? I have it set with the high end at the E, but it seems like my fingers are able to fit under the E, but barely under the G. Don't know if this is the way it's supposed to be as I thing the E side was always a bit higher. Below is a picture of what my bridge basically looks like. Thanks!

The name on the bridge is the side facing up.

My bridge has no name on it, though. This was just an example to show the shape. But then judging by this one, the higher end goes to the E. I wonder why I have some a difference in string height between the E and G.

I would try both sides to see which way works best. Be careful not to let the sound post fall!
If it does it is a bit tricky to get right.

More telling may be to look from the side. The face toward the end pin will be perpindicular to the top of the bass. (The green line). The face towards the neck will be beveled slightly to be at an angle greater than 90 degrees with the top of the bass. (Blue line).

But I’m a hack; wait for confirmation from someone who knows stuff.

Yea you've got it right. The idea is that the low strings should be higher from the fingerboard (traditionaly) because they need more energy to play, and thus they actually vibrate wider and could hit the fingerboard and make an annoying buzzing sound. Also try playing a g-string in thumb position with a super high action... never again...

Is your fingerboard beveled? If so, high part of bridge is on E side

It doesn't matter if it's beveled or not, the E needs a higher action (string to fingerboard distance at the end of the fingerboard) than the G.

Also the string notches are different sizes. G is small, E is large! It should be easy to tell based on that.
