Double Bass dumb end pin question

I have to replace the cover/tip on my end pin. Can I just take my end pin out and go to the shop? It's a Shen SB-80 with the original end pin for all I can tell.

If it will come out then yes. Sometimes the inside end is hammer-spread or pinned so you have to take out the socket too. In this case better to take the bass itself to the shop.

MY SB 80 end pin comes out with no problem.

Sometimes you can pull a pin like that through the f-holes using a noose.
