Dummy J Bridge Pickup for P bass as a Thumbrest

I love my P bass. The sound, the feel, etc., It is the bass I play most on gigs because the music I play wants that sound. But after revising my technique with a teacher over the past months, I have difficulty playing it since my technique seems to now rely on my thumb resting on the bridge pickup or using the edge of the bridge pickup to locate my position. I'm not quite ready to add a J pickup to the P so I drew up a dummy pickup in CAD and 3D printed it. Stuck it to the top with double sided tape. Works a treat and doesn't look awful to my eyes.
Im not sure how common an issue this is but if anyone wants the file to print one themselves, PM me IMG_9160.JPG IMG_9159.JPG IMG_9158.JPG IMG_9157.JPG .

Hilarious idea. I like it. A small thumbrest would work just as well.

I can hear it now... Dude! Your bass sounds great! I can really hear the bark from that EMG J pickup!

My initial try was with a smaller rest made similar to the top part of a soap bar shape.
