Dunlop Crybaby 105Q problem

It could be shorting, yes, but it could just as easily be going open circuit as well (dodgy joint, cracked PCB track etc.)
To check for shorting put a multimeter across the power supply (somehow!) whilst inducing the fault condition - you'll soon see if the voltage drops to zero.
Or, temporarily stick some gaffa tape to the inside of the base plate to stop the shorting. This should only serve for troubleshooting, not as a permanent fix, because it will eventually fail too.

yeah... ok.. spoke to a friend of mine who is an electronics tech, also a guitarist so kinda familiar with the pedal... described the problem as i did in last post... he says "yeah absolutely sounds correct, battery terminal shorting straight to ground/earth, just insulate it by wrapping electrical tape around it"... gonna pull the bloody thing out now and see how i go... will repost with the result...
Simple problem, the power jack simply isn't fitting correctly. Both me and my guitarist had this problem with both of our Dunlop wahs and daisy chain.
Solution? Shave off some plastic from the connector. Should fit snuggly.

hey, id like to raise this issue again. my wah seems to be sometimes working, and sometimes not working with the adaptor. i tried different plugs with more length to the metal part, but they still dont wanna work. it only sometimes will wah when i put my foot up and down, other times when i put my foot down it will lose all tone and treble, and not wah at all. doesnt do anything if i dont put on my foot on it, and its not sucking my tone when i dont have my foot on it.
Realize this is old but I have a Dunlap I took back cuz I thought it was defective, but you can tell it’s the size of the 9v jacks that come off a power supply. There is so much coating and it doesn’t make a full connection. I had this issue as a guitar player with a cry baby’s power unit always falling out. And now this one of bass won’t fully connect.
I think I’m going to re buy it and try your suggestion. I have a Mxr envelope but having a wah to is nice they are different and can actually Interaxt with each other
