Double Bass Dvorak 1

Does anybody out there have a bass part for Dvorak Symphony #1, AKA "The Bells of Zlonice" ? The IMSLP part is badly scanned, resulting in missing stems, ledger lines, etc.

If you've played it, how the **** did you turn pages?

As it says in my original post, I have that one-the scan is inconsistent; some pages are fine, others have missing stems, ledger lines, etc. The bass part is the only one that's really bad. The page turns will be enough without having to deal with that.

If you don't have a stand partner and aren't okay leaving out a note here and there, then it's arts & crafts time; get some extra copies of those bad page turns and see what you can come up with.

I've done that with other music-this one has me stumped so far. The first movement alone is 9 pages with an internal repeat. An electronic device is not feasible as none of them have big enough print for
my old eyes.

I think you’re, then, at the point of figuring out what you’re okay with leaving out. It’s a piece written with six to ten players on the part in mind, so a few compromises are probably inevitable. Triage, in a way.

I suggest having a look at the part on IMSLP, and then decide how you would deal with it.

If you're printing out an IMSLP part yourself, you could always just keep them loose (rather than taping them) and slide them over as you can.

For example;
Start with the first two pages up, when you hit that chunk of eight measures rest on the 2nd page (7th system), slide it over. You've then got eleven measures rest on the next page to slide again, and so on. Doesn't really help with the repeat, but you could print a second copy of the first four pages and do it that way.

Fwiw, this is what I always did before 2014 or so, when I moved to the iPad for everything that wasn't provided to me.
