E String too short.

Hey I restringed me bass and the E string ended up being too short.
So I looped it around over the A string tuner, but ofcourse that makes tuning the A and E very stupid and hard.
I just thougth if I cun the E string at that length it would snap when it comes to wrapin around the tuner because it's quite thick at that point.
What do you guys think?
Should it be allright to do it normally?
Btw my strings are Fender Roundwounds medium/light gauge .045-.100.

That wont work. I guess those strings are for thru-body basses. I would wrap it normally with the thick end around the peg and dont buy those strings again.

I'm confused? Looks to me like your E string is TOO LONG since you're wrapping it around the string tree and the A tuning peg!

If your E string was too short you wouldnt be able to wrap it around any of the tuning pegs

It won't snap. Wrap it around the E tuner like it's supposed to be. The way you have it puts a weird angle on the nut which is worse than the string wrapping around the tuner.

if its too long just trim it, you only need it to wrap around the tuning peg a few times.

I am looking at my p bass strung with the thick part on the peg. do it.

I will say that on the advice of a very good luthier, I trimmed the strings on a couple of basses so that it wraps no more than 1 or 1 1/2 times around the post; these basses tune much more quickly & stay in tune better than before.

In fact, it will be way better for your bass than anything you're doing now.

Why hasn't anyone commented on the mismatched tuners? Or the mile high nut? Sorry, couldn't help myself.

+1 to wrapping it around its own tuner. It will be fine, it will not snap. When you cut the string, if you are cutting the core and the winding, make sure to bend the string a little more than 90 degrees to ensure the winding doesn't unravel. You may not get a full three wraps on the tuning post, but you should be able to get two which will be good enough.

Can't quite figure out why only the E string is too long but the others aren't.

Yeah only the E is too long wdf lolz.
Btw that is my 1st custom bass guitar.
I've build everything myself, paint, circuits etc.
And when I ordered 4 gold tunning pegs I got 1 instead, so now I got 1 gold and 3 silver.
They are pretty expensive so I cant get 3 more right away.

What's the scale length, nut to bridge?

nut to bridge seat = 86cm
Neck length near 60cm.
