Distortion bad! 100 watts is plenty to kill most any speaker if it's all distortion. Having lots of headroom helps prevent clipping and distortion.

I have two EA VL208s - wouldn't use anything else for DB!
I use one for quiet gigs and practice - two for louder gigs!!
2 as a stack is awesome and some days I wish I had more loud gigs!!
I've also used mine for outside parties - so just plug a portable CD player or Mini Disc into the amp - instant party - gets everybody dancing with some funky tracks!

I get asked from time to time about what started me down the path of wanting to build speakers ...
Well first off nobody should "want" to build speakers for bass players , but it was the VL-208 that did it, I have a pair also.
The VL-208 is still a standard setter and what I use as a control when I listen to other speaker designs.
