OK...I just installed the Full Circle on my bass, and played it through my new Doubler...HOLY COW! They sound great together! I'm running through a Schroeder 1X12, and my EB slab R Bass sound RIDONKULOUS through the Doubler! I am one very happy bottom-dweller! The FC sounds (on my bass, to my ears), SO much better than the Bass Max, Underwood, or Rev Solo...I am impressed!
YMMV, IMO, etc. But, I'm diggin' how I sound! Kudos to EA and Fishman!

Man...I just traded/sold a WW green light which sounded AMAZING, both for slab and DB...but the Doubler does what the Woods did simpler, with less fuss. It is a simple amp, but it does what it does GREAT! Now I know why you don't see them coming up for sale often. I'm REALLY digging this little powerhouse! Flexible, useful, totally musical. The FC pickup doesn't lie...completely transparent, and really sounds as much like "your bass" as a piezo can. Overall, I am happy on SO many levels! In short....WOW!

Hey jacochops,

I'm wondering how powerful it is. I play both upright and electric bass. I'm going to play a lot of festivals this summer. Is the doubler powerful enough to drive, let's say a 4x10, 6x10 or 8x10 at high volumes? I'm really interested in this amp but I'm also going to need a lot of power.... Thanks!

I tour with the Doubler and use it for festivals all the time. It's fine for upright---even going pretty loud. For electric it's good as long as the load is 4 ohms---I don't think of it as a slammin' electric amp into 8 ohms. It depends on the efficiency of the speaker---a lot. I use the Thunderchild TC112 and TC115. The TC 115 is about 2.5 db more efficient than the 12. Obviously the 15 has more headroom and goes louder, but with the 12 at loud volumes I felt like the amp was running out of steam. With the TC115 I couldn't imagine needing to go any louder. The Doubler and Thunderchilds are a GREAT combination. Bob Hurst was using a Doubler and a TC112 at a gig in Chicago recently.

How well does the Doubler suit the Crazy8, Mike?

Awesome. Sounds like a mini-Thunderchild, but with a little better mids which is like because the woofer is really a good mid driver that is engineered to go loud and low. The combination with the Doubler is very detailed but not too clinical---but still warm and thumpy.

Hey there.
I just want to give my feelings about the doubler since I have one :-)
I use it with for electric and upright. Right away I would say it's much more efficient with the double bass, I'd say amazing! I have 2 markbass NY 121 cabs. I use one when on acoustic and both when on electric. 1x12 doesn't work so well with the electric bass unless the gig is really not loud. Actually the volume is not the problem, but you'll never have enough bottom to get a a nice bass sound. the Doubler has the bad side that is the also the good point. I mean the sound is really "transparent" or "hi-fi" if don't like transparent. Which works great for an upright. That feeling is less strong when used with the 2 cabs, but still. I used to play on an Ampeg! The transition was tough :-)
One thing I should mention, even though I bought the Markabass cabs, I had tried the Genz-Benz STL 12T and this is what I should have bought and I didn't for a reason I even ignore.
Hope this helps.
(I'll keep saying that: I'm French, my English may sound weird)
