EA iAmp 800/500

Been over a decade, however I briefly tried out one of the iAmps during band rehearsals and found it sterile compared with my Eden WT-500. Spent some time trying to dial it in but couldn't get a tone I really liked and the band preferred the sound of the Eden head too. Can't recall which cabinet I used exactly. May have been a D-410XLT or EA NL-210. If possible, it is probably best to try it and hear for yourself.

Would you say Eden Navigator is a better choice?
No. It is a preamp, you will need to have a power amp to drive speakers. That is more equipment and you are looking at the Iamp because it is not very heavy.

What are you currently using?

EA is out of business so if you need service it may be difficult to find. There are a lot of "clean" light amps being made these days, you may want to check around if service is important.

That combo stomps. Really. I have tried the iAmp with the 210XLT and 410XLT. The efficiency of the cabs and the flexibility of the iAmp eq is great. Caution: repair/parts for the iAmp will be a challenge.

Edit: I agree that the iAmp is very clean and does not drive a saturated or overdriven tone - but it does taken pedals well.

Thank you. I appreciate your in put. I know they're no longer produced. The one I have seems to be in great shape. Supposedly signed by Victor Wooten. Sounds nice with a Whizzy 12"

Anyone tried an iAmp 500 or 800 with an Eden 410XLT? Just curious
I already have this cabinet and was wondering if ANYONE has tried this combo

The Navi power amp has had some issues, and if your run into trouble finding a qualified tech with schematics and parts might be challenging . The Navi Preamp is about as solid as is comes. As for the Eden cab, as great sounding as these cabs were, I hope you don't have to move it much. Personally, I opted for 2 210 cabs instead.

What would you consider a clean amp?

I bought an iAmp500 last year in great shape. The only cabs I have are 2x svt210av 200w 8ohm cabs. This pairing sounds as good as with my kustom kxb500 or LM250 heads, but I'd like to pair the iamp500 with 8ohm 112's rated at little higher power capacity. Wizzy 112's are gone now.

Recommendations? I play both DB, EUB, and slabs.
