Hmm. I just checked out the EA site and downloaded the manual, and they are not clear about your fx loop. On the site it says "series and parallel post eq with independant level controls", but the image only shows one loop and one level control, and the manual indicates it is a SERIES loop. If it really is a series loop, then the level control is not a blend- it just controls the volume of the whole signal coming back in from the loop. You'll still want it on "full" for this purpose, unless you have the dbx set to a high output level.

Okay, don't slap me if you already know the difference , but:

Series connection is where one signal goes straight into another with no splitting or blending. A level knob in series just controls the level of the whole signal.

Parallel connection is where a signal gets split, processed on two or more separate channels, and then mixed back together. A level knob in parallel (usually) controls the blend of the split channels, and often it's just a volume control for the "effect" channel while the "clean bass" channel stays at full volume.
