I think the boost and cut have the same range but the center (detent) is around the 5 o’clock position. Almost as if the whole control was rotated 120 degrees clockwise.

Maybe just remove the knobs and put em back on wherever you want? The videos seem to show them all at noon so maybe just an issue with how they were put on on yours
Set the knob to the detent. Pull the knob off the pot, put knob back on the pot with the line now facing the 12 o clock position.
This should solve your issue

Mine arrived today! I gave it a quick five minute test run and it sounds great, but I immediately came to the realisation that I'm going to have to spend a bit of time with this pedal to get the most out of it.
No popping on the demo above. Could it possibly be how you are powering it? This is generally what I find when I have this issue.
I currently have a Capo and an XB driver. Both pres and have clean and dirt/saturation that are different flavors. The Scrolls seems very versatile. Color me intrigued.
You mean in the video? I'm not sure you can really tell those kinds of things from a YouTube demo. It could be my power, but I have many other pedals and none of them pop. I don't feel it's a dealbreaker. It's not a massive pop, and the pedal is awesome in every other way.
RE: popping
The last Earthquaker pedal I owned was the Avalanche Run delay and the popping noise was HORRIBLE on it. Basically made it unusable for recording b/c of how loud the "POP" was.
It's 100% something to do with those weird momentary footswitches they use because I've seen multiple people complain about this with Earthquaker.

What's odd is that the EQ side of the Scrolls does it too, and that's not a momentary switch. Only the drive side is momentary.
I played with it a lot last night through headphones and was freely switching the drive side on and off without being bothered by the popping. It was there, but so tiny it didn't occur to me. I couldn't really hear it over the music I was playing along to. I'm not sure it would be much of a factor in a band setting.
On a more general note, my favorite way to use this pedal so far is running the drive side into my BDDI. The Scrolls drive is awesome. It's got this unique gnarly grain to it that you can control with dynamics but still feels a bit chaotic. It's definitely different and surprisingly musical. I've been enjoying it with the Bandwidth all the way down and the Tone up around 2:00. This gives an interesting mix of focusing the clipping on low frequencies, which essentially mellows it, but also having clear articulation thanks to the tone being up a bit. The effect is a distortion that can sort of fly under the radar but then rear its ugly head when you play harder, and sort of reveal this sinister thing going on down low that you might not have noticed at first. I've always liked those kinds of bass sounds, where it's not super obvious for most of the song but there are some key moments where it looks at you. It's something Tony Levin does a lot, and Cliff Burton did it too. But anyway I run that into the BDDI which does its amp sim transformation on it and it just sounds awesome. The Scrolls' own preamp is great too but it's completely clean. Since I play solid state amps I like running all my drives into an end of chain preamp with a bit of gain on it, either the BDDI or the X Ultra, to simulate a tube amp sound.
One other word about the EQ side of the Scrolls: don't be afraid of the extremes. I sometimes have a mental block against maxing out EQ points but on the Scrolls that's where a lot of the versatility seems to be, especially with the mids.
Ah yea, that's awesome! I guess he likes the Drive side with pretty conservative settings. The way he's got it set would be only a subtle grit. It stays within the realm of amp breakup until a little before noon, and then a little past noon that signature filthy growl starts to come out.
First run through at rehearsal tonight. This thing kills. No popping. Killer EQ section and awesome drive section. They got it right. Don’t hesitate on this one. Just an awesome pedal. Way to go Earthquaker.
I hope this is allowed. I just released a video demoing the Scrolls on my YouTube channel. I figure I'd post it here in case anyone is on the fence about purchasing one - hopefully it can be helpful for someone.

What type of compressor do we think plays best with this pedal? I would absolutely be interested in building a board that's simply Boss TU-2, compressor, then Scrolls Bass Odyssey.
Really liking my Empress BC. Not sure if there's a bad option though. Please excuse the messy cables and dog hair.

but on the other hand the only comps I've ever used were all super simple single knob units. I feel like I can open up many more possible with something a little beefier but I don't wanna go too complex. I feel like the Scrolls EQ is more then enough for me.
Although I haven’t tried the pairing, I bet a Union Tube & Transistor LAB would pair great with the Scrolls.The Empress is too much for me
