It's been a while since I heard Billy Crawford but I can tell you this: he is an excellent guitarist and anyone who gets to see/hear him play is in for a real treat. At $7 this could be the bargain of the year.
Those of you who know me from the GTGs are aware of my propensity for finding some pretty good deals on gear. I think I've done it again! I've been prowling for a nice smaller rig and last week found what I consider a pretty good deal from Music Go Round. It's a Tech 21 Landmark 60. I use an RBI in my main rig, so it instantly appealed to me. It's basically a BDDI with a 60 watt SS amp added and mated to a 2.5 cubic foot cabinet housing a 12" speaker rated at 100W. The cab is covered with a scuff-proof material (think Rhino liner). It has a DI, effects loop and speaker and headphone outs. The thing only weighs 38 lbs and so far, I'm very impressed with it. I'll be sure to bring it to the next GTG. Just wanted to share.
Oh yeah, the price? $249+$60 shipping for a total of $309 to my door and it's in immaculate condition.

Definitely looking forward to it myself. Our guitarist, Jeff Swafford is no slouch either, as anyone who's heard our band can attest. Plan is to end with a multi-player jam beginning around 11:30 or so and I'm sure we'll get Billy involved in our set, as well. Should be fun! Come on out!
Well that was a fun night. Great bands, great crowd. Lots of appreciation for the hard work and talent on the stage. And an hour-long jam that even had musicians in the audience rotating in & out. Old School's new amp stood proud too and had no problem holding its own.

I'm as happy with this purchase as I have been with any I've made. It really was impressive for 60 SS watts. I played with acoustic drums and never had the volume above half.

It appears that the Tech21 combos are discontinued. For that matter, they aren't selling the speaker cabs anymore either. Just the bass heads now.
That's right, Michael. Unfortunately, the only way to find them is going to be used, either through Music Go Round or eBay, CL, etc. ThumpinP and I were talking about the possibility of this being a great amp to use with an upright. I think it would be a great match and would work well for your theatre gigs, too. You can try it out at the next GTG to see if you think it would be worth the trouble to track one down.
Even if it's not available new, it's good to know what gear you like 'cause you never know when you're going to stumble into a deal.
That's how I look at it. I kind of took a chance on the Landmark 60, but since I use the RBI preamp and Tech 21 is a well-recognized brand and is made in the USA, I felt that even if I didn't really like it, I would be able to get most of my money back. Turns out it was well worth the gamble.
After Michael's post, I checked eBay and CL and couldn't find one for sale on either. Still yet, it's no big deal to search for it on eBay and have eBay send you an email should one be posted for sale. I expect to generate a little GAS at the next GTG with this thing. I think Jeff, and others that used mine, are still enamoured with the Eden WTDI that I've brought to both ETTB GTG's. Patience, along with the lack of actual NEED, go a long way toward enabling us to get good deals.
Oh yeah, your Eden thingy is the bomb. I remember now that we talked about A/B-ing it with my Eden amp - but unfortunately that baby has developed a problem. Local dudes want $200 to fix it and that's not in my immediate future.
I personally love my Eden WTDI. I have a Bass Pod (Gen 1) as a back up, but, the Eden has yet to fail me. I really hope that I can make it to the next GTG. I am sure that I will develop some serious GAS!

All the talk about the Landmark 60 sent me to the Tech21 site. Tech21 announced a tube version of the BDDI in mid-October. No price. They are built to order. Looks like it could be a REDDI killer.
