I really appreciate it ! I am kind of working my way through DI's. I don't use the GT-10B a lot as all the stuff we play really doesnt need effects. Just want some tone modelling at times. Music is all very simple. Just call me the root note rider ! rofl

If it fails to blow my dress up, I'll find a way to let everyone know here without mucking up the thread.

I like that a number of us post gigs here, especially for Kingsport, JC, Bristol, Abington, etc. That way, if Mrs Zoomie and I are out and about, I will make a point of saying hello to the bass player. No one EVER says hello to the bass player. ;)

I missed the last one as my schedule has been heck lately. I have either been at the office, learning new material, at rehearsal, or sleeping.

I will happily bring the DJ5 down for you to fondle if I am not stress testing my recliner. If not, I am down in JC off exit 24 practicing every Tuesday and Thursday. Won't be hard to get together. Also, my largest client is down in Rogersville and I'm down there pretty regularly.

That is a 2003 Lakland Skyline Hollowbody fitted with Barts. I sent it to my buddy Mark Robertson at BNA Audio to play with. He's the guy that built my Dually.

It is a beautiful bass. The thump is incredible. My only gripe is that I have no place to comfortably rest my thumb. I need an anchor. I can't do that fancy floating thumb fingerstyle stuff like you guys ! rofl

I can't say as we all have our own personal ergonomic issues with basses.

Most comfortable spot for me to ancho is by placing thumb toward rear of neck pick up on P's, J's, or any bass with a pick up in that vicinity. Stingrays give me fits for this reason and I usually install a thumb rest.

My other pet peeve is that I hate playing directly over pick ups ie the bridge PU's.

So, Neck pick up feels really far forward to me. Playing over bridge humbucker drives me nuts. And there is no way I am drilling holes in that body and screwing in a TR.

Try one and see if it works for you. Some guys settle right in and others are driven crazy.

If you're used to Fenders, the pickup placement is a bit odd...I've been borrowing Zoomies Lakland hollowbody...took me a bit to get my head around the placement...I played it for a couple hours to learn a few tunes, then one practice and one gig...now I feel pretty comfortable with it. Awesome bass :)

Well said. And I join Oldschool in that I have so many blessings that fall outside of music.

I actually took another sabbatical, work is very busy, but I left 3rd Degree with a very competent replacement. I would have posted about it on this thread, but I mentioned hanging it up and the drummer called a friend, who came to the next two shows. He really wanted the job, learned our catalog in two weeks, and is now having the time of his life!

My turn will come again one day. Too many toys to hang up the hat for good.

OK you Tri-Cities TBrs, come on out to Schmucks Pizza in Johnson City Saturday night 12/1/12 to share the good times with The Lost Creek Shakers! Show starts at 9 so come on out and share good music, good times and good food with us. And Zoomie, I'm hoping to try out that DJ5! Cover is $6; ldervish can tell you what a deal that is! No better way to support live music than coming out for a TB brother!

Here's a pic of ETTB's own BrickBatMansion sitting in with the Lost Creek Shakers. For those of you who haven't seen Tom play live, you really missed it. He is an awesome bassist. The venue was close to SRO and we had a blast, despite the parking nazis!

I didnt even see this until this morning. Mrs. Zoomie has me running back and forth like an idiot to storage as her parents will be spending a month with us.

iamoldschool, BrickBatMansion, sorry that I missed the visit.

Sooner or later we will be able to get together for a visit in the Tri Cities area.

And Iam, I'll get the DJ5 down to you to fondle one way or another. Also have a brand new AVRI 62 P that I grabbed during the Black Friday deal. Nicest P Bass that I have played in a very long time and I have played some sweet ones.

Pres Pub has just confirmed us as being a Friday/Saturday band for now on, and our next gig there will be on December 14th! We were set to play the Cider House before they closed down, but we know the guy who's buying them out so we may get to play there after all :)
