Eastman (B80 or ?) VB80 appropriate price, $750?

I am a beginning bass player and looked at a 1/2 size Eastman B80 (I didn't see a "V" on the label when I looked inside the body) today which seemed to be an okay beginner instrument. What I'm wondering is, in good or very good condition, is $750 a good price?

You'll get a better response on the double bass (DB) side. You should ask a moderator to move it.

That said, $750 is a good price for an Eastman in that condition. I had a 3/4 one for a time and it was perfectly serviceable.
