Double Bass Easy and quick stretches to avoid or alleviate pain

http://basstony.wordpress.com/2013/07/26/video-blog-stretching-to-avoid-injury/P.S. I put this in basses because your arms are technically part of your instrument; no arms, no play.

In my humble opinion, that's a bit of a stretch (pun intended). But your creativity points out a frustration of mine: we don't have a subforum for General Technique.

We have Jazz Technique and Classical Technique. And Rockabilly and Bluegrass, which encompass technique. But what about aspects of playing that are meaningful to more than one genre? They get compartmentalized, often unnecessarily.

Intonation. Hand strength. Maximizing volume, achieving subtlety. Avoiding injury. Hammer-ons. Shell voicings. A lot of things span more than a single musical style. I sometimes wish we could treat them as such.
