easy songs!

ya, are there any tabs you guys could suggest that are simple and easy, that i can learn quickly so i can look cool while im still learning. Something easy along the lines of U2- with or without you (really easy, i love it).

Duude, if you wanted to look cool, you shoulda picked up a guitar. I pretty sure a lot of people are gonna agree with me here.

As for easy songs, ACDC stuff is pretty simple. Probably why I havent learned any of it.
Some Metallica is also pretty simple, just fast.

Learn songs with some melody to the bassline. Otherwise it will become boring and you do like very many bass beginers, swich to guitar....
Ex:
. James Brown - I feel good. | Heaven.
. RHCP - Give it away. | Its not as hard as it sounds.
. Pearl Jam - Black. | Its soft in a cool way.
. Led Zeppelin - Moby dick. | Its nice. One riff allmost.
. Jimi Hendrix - Purple haze. | Just simple. Try learning it by ear.

no, i dont want to do guitar. I wanted to learn an instrument so i chose bass, cause it looks pretty cool, a guy named scott pilgrim plays it (my hero) and i want to be the bass guy, ya there are plenty of people who play the bass but there are so many people who play guitar.

Are you using a course or taking lessons or ???

A lot of ZZ Top and George Thorogood songs are fairly easy to play and can be recognized by just the bass line. Some of the songs that are easiest to play the bass lines for are not very recognizable with just the bass line.

ok right now im going to lessons. I started like a month ago, hes teaching me through this book so i can like get stronger hands and have like good fingering and technique or whatever. But ya i just want easy simple bass lines so i can have at least some kind of repetoire of songs. Like i want simple easy bass lines like The Beatles - Ballad of John and Yoko, Tom Petty - Face in a Crowd, and U2 - With or Without You. Ya those arent the coolest songs but there nice and easy, so recoomend me some easy ones like that.

the bass solo in the middle of orion by metallica is not too hard really either but is really nice to play, it's all arpeggios (i think, my knowledge of musical terms isn't great)

Incredibly simple bass line, but without a doubt one of the best songs ever written.

Jonas Hellborg played bass on the track too, Steve Vai on guitars, Ginger Baker on the drums, John Lydon on vocals and Bill Laswell producing. Talk about an all star line up!
