Well, I purchased a squier affinity from ebay last weekend, and shipping rules were "will ship within 3 business days of received payment", which i paid for as soon as i found out i won the auction.

The auction ended Sunday 7/31 (and i paid) and on Wednesday 8/3, I emailed the seller asking when it would ship, and received a response that it would ship later today, and the tracking number to follow. Thursday (8/4) i request an update...nothing. Friday (today) i request an update...nothing. No tracking number, no email with an explanation or anything...

It isn't a lot of money, and i am not super worried as i paid via paypal. I don't want to throw someone under the bus for no reason as i know that maintaining a good feedback rating is important when buying/selling online, but I am getting concerned. I don't buy from ebay very often, but the few times that I did, I never had an issue before. This person had 74 positive feedback's and a 100% rating, which i know isn't massive, but it still shows a good track record. Although, now i look, and 72 of those 74 are as a buyer, and 2 are as a seller....

I guess i just want to see if anyone else had a similar experience and what they did.

Thanks in advance....

I worked for paypal before.. the best thing to do is to call paypal and tell them exactly what happened, they can provide you the tracking number (if it was shipped) if there is no other choice.. they will also transfer your call to ebay so they can further assist you with your problem.. if still nothing happens you can file a dispute to the seller.

purfektstranger- that is good advice too...i think i'll try paypal, and if they can't give me a tracking number, then i'll see what they recommend. I feel like i have been reasonable and there is no excuse for not communicating. Thanks!

No worries...in my experience buying on Ebay...alot of sellers tend to send the stuff late and as a result don't respond to emails, which causes more confusion than anything else. File the dispute and odds are he will email you with a tracking no. soon enough.

my problem is, they haven't been responding to my email...:scowl:

I think i will give them until monday. I read the shipping section of the item on the ebay listing, and it says "Will usually ship within 3 business days of receiving cleared payment ", the key word being usually...although the email I received on 8/3 said they would ship that day.

I know I am probably being more generous than I ought to be, but I think that if I get nothing (email and/or tracking number) by Monday, it would be reasonable to open a dispute that evening as 7 days have passed. I don't want to start a peeing contest threatening negative feedback, at least, not just yet...

Thanks for the advice though, It may come to that yet, but I hope not!
