Hi all,

Just noticed this Framus ply bass with a Buy it Now price of $700. From the limited pics, it seems like the wear is only in the finish. Maybe ask about the neck handle - worse case scenario, it looks like a partial crack (but might just be more finish wear).

Here's the listing: 3/4 Size Framus String Bass | eBay

It could make a good beginner bass at a nice price! Please note, I have no knowledge of, or connection to, the seller.

No, nothing from the outfield? It's a German bass, probably 40+ years old, for $700. If I lived anywhere nearby it'd be gone already...

When shopping for deals, I’m looking for a) something I want to play, or b) something I can put a little money into and sell at a profit.

I’ve already got a German laminate from the ‘70s, so this one doesn’t have much appeal from a playing standpoint. And while the price is attractive, if it requires any work it’ll reach/exceed the going rate for laminates in my neck of the woods ($800-1200).

Agree that it’d be a nice first bass or an upgrade from a low-end CCB.

It's on Craigslist around here. E-mail from him says he did the repairs himself..new bridge and setup..but he is a woodwind player. He offered no credentials concerning bass repair, so no telling how the bridge fits for if the soundpost is positioned correctly. Be hard to tell from the pix.
